About me & my work:

Most days I work with incredible humans to unleash innovation in education by supporting passionate teachers and leaders to make change, be that small steps or moonshots. There much work to do to ensure that every kid gets an education worth having but there are true anonymous extraordinaries who are making a better world place every day. I strive to enable others to do their best work and to live deliberately to make an impact that counts.

I was born in NSW but moved to Adelaide as a toddler. As the son of a Greek mother and Welsh father who had arrived by boat, I was a typical first-generation Aussie city-boy, and after high school moved with the family to the UK and then on to Dublin. I was very green, and living and traveling around Europe for 2 years opened my eyes to the world, to culture, to politics and to language.

By my return to Australia, I had become a student of history, both my own and that of the world, and I wanted to use my passion for learning to make a positive and direct impact in the world, so I became a teacher. In my breaks from uni I explored the world's cities, towns, villages and far-flung places, living in Greece and Chile to learn from other cultures and languages. I became increasingly passionate about equity and the required collective actions to enable abundance in our world. I then took my first teaching job in one of the most remote communities in Australia (on the APY Lands of South Australia), becoming the principal at 27 and learning the local languages Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjnatjara over five years.

I'm quite juxtaposed, as although I love adventure and physical challenge (training for my first Ironman and travelling to 52 countries so far), I am equally happy as a total nerd delving into a fascinating topic of inquiry. I've studied quite a bit with a couple Masters degrees, one in Applied Linguistics and one Educational Leadership. It'd be fair to say I'm rather hyper-engaged and love learning from interesting and interested people on practically any topic.
