About me & my work:

I write about linguistics for a general audience. I'm currently writing a book about internet language and the future of English for Riverhead (Penguin).

I was the Resident Linguist at The Toast, where I wrote about linguistics of the doge meme, Benedict Cumberbatch names, and more. I've also written pop linguistics for Slate and Mental Floss.

I have a blog called All Things Linguistic and cohost a podcast called Lingthusiasm.
