About me & my work:

Someone once called me a serial creative. For some reason it sounded somewhat weird and even dangerous. So I looked it up. Serial is derived from the 1840s, from ‘series’; popularised by Dickens’ novels, which were published one part at a time, as opposed to all at once in a book.* I then looked up the word creative. Derived from Latin 'creatus', meaning to make, bring forth, produce, beget, arise, grow. Nice.

So Serial Creative seems to fit after all, as over the years I've worked as a designer, artist, publisher, writer and curator. I have co-edited a serial cultural compendium 'Trunk' which pulls together contributions from a global network of writers and artists. 'Hair' and 'Blood' were our first volumes, our next is 'Breath'. I've also founded and directed creative agency Boccalatte for the last 24 years.

I've always believed that design and creativity is essential in cultural production and change in contemporary society and my aim is to fuel, motivate and provide insights to move business and culture forward.

(*For the record, serial attached to the word 'killer' was first attested 1981.)
