About me & my work:

Trained as an anthropologist. Worked as a journalist. Invented lots of new stuff online. Love helping big brands create disruptive innovations.

I work in Strategy and Planning at Razorfish, and have had 25 years of experience developing innovative products and experiences for some of the world's greatest companies.

Recent clients range from Mercedes-Benz, Disney, Terra and CNN to Condé Nast, The New York Times, Balenciaga, Ford, and Ralph Lauren. I am particularly proud of of the role Razorfish has played in delivering four TED Prizes: the Encyclopedia of Life, Pangea Day, Next Einstein, and Oceans.

Before becoming head of Strategy & Planning, I was Executive Creative Director of Avenue A / Razorfish. During my tenure, the agency experienced a creative renaissance, and won more top creative awards than in any time its history. Prior to joining Razorfish, I was a principal at Doblin Group, a celebrated think tank + strategy consultancy with roots that stretch to the origins of the Bauhaus. Doblin Group is regarded as a pioneer in the art and science of user-centered innovation.

I began my career as a journalist, and worked for 12 years as an editor and writer for numerous national magazines. A high point was the three months I spent covering Gov. Bill Clinton’s first Presidential campaign for Esquire Magazine.

I sit on multiple boards and juries in the world of entertainment, marketing and design, including the Webby Awards, the New York Festival of Advertising, the Effie Awards, the American Business Awards, Internet Week / New York, and the Web Marketing Awards. I serve on the Mayor’s Advisory Board for Film and Broadcast for the City of New York, and in 2006 he was inducted into the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.

I hold a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and English Literature from Washington University, and a Masters in Journalism from the Medill School at Northwestern University. I live in Manhattan and Rio de Janeiro..
